Another beautiful day out here in Costa Rica as we continue to share our Adventures by Disney journey with you! Over the past few days, our teen photographers have taken some breathtaking images with their Nikon cameras, zip lined through the tropical rainforest and white-water rafted through the raging waters of the Tenorio River. Today we ventured out into the Pacific Ocean for our catamaran excursion. With the secluded beaches surrounding us, we felt like we were on our own private island! The teens looked forward to snorkeling, paddle boating and using their Nikon CoolPix AW cameras to snap some awesome underwater photos. Speaking of photos, I captured this action shot just before they all went overboard! As we headed under the sea, our teen photographers had fun taking photos of each other as they snorkeled around the pristine blue waters of the ocean. Besides all the wonderful activities that we enjoyed in the ocean, the teens became one with nature as they shot some incredible photos of the natural beauty that Costa Rica is known for.

One of my favorite new offerings that just launched as a part of Frozen Summer Fun at Disney’s Hollywood Studios have to be the “ Frozen Fireworks ,” which light up the sky at 9:45 p.m., nightly.
Gallery view all What I enjoy about this fireworks show is that it combines elements of a stage show, complete with moments of narration with Anna, Kristoff and Elsa, with fireworks and songs from the soundtrack to “ Frozen .” Disney Parks Blog author Bob Hitchcock recently headed out to the park to take a look and find out what guests – and even some of the creators of the show – think of the new nighttime spectacular. Check it out below. “Frozen Fireworks” will run nightly through September 1, as a part of the park’s Frozen Summer Fun celebration and viewing is available throughout the park. Want to add some character to your dinner table? I have a couple of ideas and easy ways for you to do just that. Here are a few key items I couldn’t resist from one of the most recent vintage-inspired collections to hit store shelves. I’m sure you’ve heard the saying that everything old is new again. Our merchandisers and artists took that thought one step further and added a Disney twist, creating artwork based on our consumable programs as they would have appeared during the 1970s. The character plates are the perfect size for any appetizer, snack, small meal or dessert. Whether your glass appears half empty or half full, you will no doubt be the toast of the town with this collection.

A Walt Disney World spokeswoman says dozens of passengers were safely evacuated from a monorail train halted by a power outage during bad weather at its central Florida amusement complex. She says no one was hurt. Spokeswoman Jacquee Wahler told The Associated Press there were thunderstorms around Walt Disney World when the elevated train stopped Sunday afternoon. She says a mechanized lift helped get passengers down. "Due to weather, there was a power outage on the monorail. There's currently one train on the system without power and all the guests are now off the train," she said in a subsequent emailed update. Wahler says the cause of the power outage wasn't immediately known. Earlier today, Anna and Elsa, the royal sisters from “ Frozen ” were officially welcomed at Disney’s Hollywood Studios , well, for the first time in forever! Gallery view all “ Anna & Elsa’s Royal Welcome ” is a new daily procession that gives everyone a chance to enjoy the pageantry and cheer of the grand arrival of the royal sisters of Arendelle. Stepping off at the front of the park, Anna and Elsa proceed through the parade route in a royal horse-drawn sleigh, while their friend, Kristoff, travels on a Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post float. Our “Frozen” friends are flanked by plenty of royal entertainers, including a flag corp twirling the flag of Arendelle, a troupe of ice men performing a routine with ice picks, sliding skiers, skating snowflakes, and more. Upon arriving at the stage in the center of the park, the sisters receive their official welcome to “Hollywoodland” before returning to their carriage and completing the rest of the parade route, ending just before the Star Tours – The Adventures Continue attraction. I was there to see today’s inaugural procession for myself, along with my son, who like so many kids, watches “Frozen,” plays “Frozen,” and even sings “Frozen.” By far, one of my favorite elements was seeing the kids who were chosen to join in on the fun. Each day, 20-30 of our young park guests are going to be randomly invited to become honorary royalty of Arendelle and march along in the parade.

Today, I’m taking inspiration from one of my favorite Disney Parks Blog series, “ Disneyland Resort Viewing Tips ,” and sharing tips for enjoying the Starlit Hui at Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa . During the Starlit Hui, Uncle takes you on a magical journey of Hawaiian traditions and culture, filled with music, dance and most importantly … fun! Here are some tips I found most useful, from my own experience and from Aulani cast members: Arriving for the show -To reach the Halawai Lawn, enter via the pathway between Aunty’s Beach House and ‘AMA ‘AMA . Once you arrive, pick up a lauhala mat and find a spot on the grass underneath the island stars. Beverages are more than welcome on the Halawai Lawn, so make sure to fill up your Resort-refillable mug before the show! Discovering island-inspired activities before the show - Once you’ve found your place on the Halawai Lawn, your keiki won’t want to miss the variety of island-inspired activities available before the show starts. Local artisans demonstrate traditional Hawaiian arts, like weaving and lei-making. You can also learn how to do the modern hula – which you’ll see later in the show!

Spectacular fireworks shows are reason enough to celebrate the Fourth of July at Disney Parks . But we’d like to think part of the fun is being able to show off your patriotic style and your Disney Side . Be a stand out in a sea of red, white and blue with this star-spangled ensemble. The faded hues of this Mickey Mouse T-shirt are the perfect compliment to a pair of distressed denim shorts. We amp up the Americana feel of this look with a deep blue tooled leather Dooney and Bourke cross body bag. It’s as if it was hand-crafted at your favorite Western wear shop. Rock your favorite tennis shoes, sandals or sassy cowgirl boots. Top off the look with a pair of star-studded Minnie ears. Zapped opened at 8 p.m. to 5.7 million viewers, enough to make it the top-rated cable telecast of the year to date in kids 2-11 (2.9 million), kids 6-11 (2.3 million) and tweens 9-14 (2.1 million). However, Zapped fell short of the high bar set last summer by Disney Channels retro beach-party musical Teen Beach Movie , which garnered 8.4 million viewers in its July 2013 debut. Girl bowed at 9:45 p.m. with 2.3 million viewers in kids 2-11, 1.8 million in kids 6-11 and 1.7 million in tweens. In a clear sign that parents were watching Zapped with their kids, the telepic did a healthy 1.3 million viewers in adults 18-49. Girl brought in 1.6 million viewers in adults 18-49. With Girl, the series that picks up where ABCs 1990s TGIF comedy Boy Meets World generated a tidal wave of media coverage and nostalgia for the Alphabets distinct brand of family comedies from the 1980s and 90s.

Simply tap the wristband to your door. The wristband is connected to a credit card and is capable of replacing your wallet, keys, and theme park tickets throughout Disney's sprawling campus. It essentially acts as a digital ID that you wear around your wrist. The sensors within the band are also contextually aware and can detect where you are. Here's how Bajarin described one experience: But these RFID bands also had proximity features so when we were on a ride like Splash Mountain where they take a picture of you as you start the downward slide, it automatically sensed from our bands we were on the ride and that picture was automatically sent to our Disney picture site as well. Bajarin notes this mobile identity aspect could be crucial for the success of the iWatch. He even went so far as to say that Apple "would be crazy" not to pursue such an idea. What's more, this concept appears to seamlessly fit with other initiatives Apple is rumored to be prioritizing moving forward. Numerous reports have suggested that the company will dive deeper into mobile payments this year, and Bajarin's reasoning makes the iWatch seem like a perfect fit for that goal. Bajarin writes: Imagine going into a Starbucks and just touching your iWatch or iBand to the terminal, entering a PIN numberand it is charged to your Apple account...Yes, you can do this with an iPhone now but that means taking it out of your pocket or purse and it is only single authentication at present. In a wearable, it is much easier to use for entering the home and for all types of interactions and transactions. New products around the connected home will also supposedly be a big priority for Apple in the coming months.

Even though we have had strong growth over the last three years, this is an exciting move for Central Florida." Disney has been working with local food trucks for some time now. And fans of mobile food vendors may be surprised that local trucks roll on to the resort property at the invitation of Disney. Later this summer, Downtown Disney plans to open a permanent food-truck park between Bongos Cuban Cafe and the new Starbucks . And ESPN's Wide World of Sports hosts seven to eight local food trucks at each Orlando City soccer game. But before you rev up the engine of your kitchen on wheels, keep in mind that the trucks are invited and vetted to make sure they meet the culinary standards of the Walt Disney World Resort. "The requirements to be on their list are stringent," said Joey Conicella, co-owner of The Yum Yum Cupcake Truck. "Our baking operation as well as our truck was thoroughly inspected to meet their standards for food preparation and safety." In addition, one of the things Disney was keen on when developing relationships with local trucks was quick service, said Conicella. "We scoped out the local food trucks before we built our vehicles, and we noticed that several trucks even the most popular ones had extensive menus which required people to wait a long time for their food, " said Kleinschmidt. "We wanted great food with a quicker guest satisfaction.

Crutchfield was charged with traveling with intent to engage in sex with a child after he allegedly admitted that he planned to have sex with the teen. He was being held at the Orange County Jail. We know our guests appreciate the same, so we’re always looking for ways to give them a sense of where we are in the world through our dining offerings. A really special way we do this in Alaska is a cookout while we sail through Tracy Arm Fjord to visit the glacier. We chargrill local items like venison sausages, fresh sockeye salmon, fresh line-caught halibut and elk tenderloin. It’s the perfect way to experience the flavors of Alaska while enjoying the breathtaking scenery! Our Taste of Alaska menu is another chance we give you to savor food fresh from the region. The guest favorite is the honey mustard-marinated Alaskan salmon with sauteed spinach, fingerling potatoes and an Aquavit sour cream sauce. Another flavorful option is the juniper-spiced elk tenderloin with brussels sprouts and baby carrots on spaetzle with a black currant sauce. One thing’s for sure … on your Alaska cruise with us this summer, the beautiful frontier isn’t the only spectacular item on the menu for you!
